OUR LOCAL COMMITMENT

VAUDE and its employees are actively involved in a number of refugee integration projects.

„We want to do our part as a company and help refugees. We can provide valuable resources and expertise – especially when it comes to integrating refugees in the labor market. If we work together to help refugees improve their prospects, the economy can benefit enormously in the long term.“

ONE SPECIFIC Project

Manufacturing bags together

VAUDE invited a group of local refugees to its product facilities in  Tettnang, Germany to make bags out of residual materials.
Working together with the Tettnang Asylum Network, a pilot project
was created in just a few months: refugees attended workshops
at our premises and manufactured the products.
The company could offer immigrants an opportunity for meaningful activity and they also gained work experience in Germany. Two participants of the workshops have now been employed by VAUDE
at its manufacturing facility here in Tettnang.

The bags that were made were sold during a special sales event. The proceeds were donated back to the Tettnang Asylum Network. At the same time, we saw that the bags passed their first “market check”. So we have now arranged financial support to continue bag production with the refugees and will be delivering them to retailers as a special package.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

We are currently working on the next step of our “Bag Project” and other activities for helping refugees enter the job market and giving them the prospect of a better future.

These projects enable us to make a positive contribution to refugee integration and provide reassurance – for ourselves and for others – that we too can make a difference.

Perhaps you’ve also been thinking about how you can get involved and take a stand? We would love to hear from you and consider possibilities for new ways of working together, getting involved, and developing new ideas. Please contact Lisa Fiedler (lisa.fiedler@vaude.com) if you have any thoughts or suggestions.

We’re looking forward to your feedback!
